What?
  • BIOPRODUCT is responsible for the creation and production of data visualizations and text materials displayed on the Dashboards, e.g., Who, What, Why, How, When.
  • BIOPRODUCT collected and analyzed the #FreeTheFood challenge grant program by collecting, analyzing, and benchmarking the four Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): (CONNECT, ENGAGE, DIVERT, TRANSFORM).
  • BIOPRODUCT collected and analyzed qualitative metrics to highlight the Partner Paradox: School Food Tray Waste (see below).
  • Benchmark Integration was assessed using the Sustainable City pLAn and the Three Milan Food Paradoxes, itself the foundation for the Food Sustainability Index.
  • Food/Food Waste/Soil initiatives around the world use The Milan Food Paradoxes and the Food Sustainability Index to help define and assess program performance.
Description from LA Food Waste Grant Challenge:
Bioproducts Innovation Center (BIOPRODUCT) supports the scientific, technical and commercial development of emerging sustainable markets by addressing the upcycling of biomass product and byproduct resource streams to grow the emerging circular economy. The BIOPRODUCT Board of Directors is comprised of experts in the upcycled use of organic waste streams and compost who have partnerships with residential and multi-family dwellings, nonprofits, private and government sector waste programs, and educational institutions. PRODUCT will leverage its technical knowledge and experience to aid project grantees in the calculation of theoretical project yield, continuous process optimization and troubleshooting, determination of scalability, as well as qualitative and quantitative verification of project outcomes.
